Privacy Notice
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This notice explains how Blink Blue handles personal data when you visit www.blinkblue.ie or contact us through the website. It is written in plain English so you can see what we do and why.
Who we are
Blink Blue (“we”, “us”) provides independent technology, data and AI advice to growing businesses in Ireland.
For the purposes of Irish and EU data protection law, Blink Blue is the controller of personal data collected through this website.
You can contact us at barry@blinkblue.ie or by writing to Shallon, Julianstown, Co. Meath, Ireland.
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect the information you choose to send us: your name, email address, company name (if provided), and your message.
We may also receive marketing attribution details submitted with your enquiry, such as campaign parameters (UTM fields), the page you arrived on, where you came from (referrer), and which call-to-action you used. These help us understand how people find Blink Blue; they are not used to identify you beyond your enquiry.
If you email us directly, we will process the personal data contained in that correspondence.
Why we use your information
We use enquiry information to respond to your message, understand your situation, and follow up if that is appropriate. Where relevant, we may also keep a record of the conversation as part of running the business relationship.
Our lawful bases for this are typically:
- Steps leading to a contract, or performance of a contract, when you ask us about working together
- Our legitimate interests in running and improving the website, responding to enquiries, and understanding which marketing is useful — balanced against your rights
- Consent, where you have clearly asked us to keep in touch for a specific purpose
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to operate the website and handle enquiries:
- Zoho Bigin (EU) — to store and manage website enquiries as contacts in our CRM
- Vercel — to host the website and provide privacy-focused analytics and performance insights
We do not sell your personal data. We only share what is needed for these providers to deliver their services to us, under appropriate arrangements.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards for business administration, follow-up, and record-keeping — typically up to two years unless a longer period is justified (for example, an ongoing client relationship or a legal obligation).
Website analytics data is retained according to the settings of our analytics provider and is generally aggregated or short-lived.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Irish data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to certain processing, and (where applicable) data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, email barry@blinkblue.ie. We will respond without undue delay and within the timeframes required by law.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
Analytics and local storage
We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand how the site is used and how quickly it loads. These tools are designed to be privacy-friendly and help us improve the website rather than build marketing profiles about you.
We also store first-touch marketing attribution details in your browser’s session storage for the duration of your visit session. This is cleared when the browser session ends and is only sent to us if you submit an enquiry.
We do not currently use a cookie consent banner because we do not rely on non-essential tracking cookies for this site. If that changes, we will update this notice and any consent tools as needed.
Updates to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
If you have any questions about this notice or how Blink Blue handles personal data, contact barry@blinkblue.ie.
